This transfer has been a huge mix of emotions for me! At times I am so busy with the twins that I completely forget about it and other times it totally consumes me. It is definitely different this time around. I am much more laid back but still excited.
As soon as we returned from the beach, I went in for monitoring and they noticed that I had a lot of fluid in my uterus and my estrogen level was way down. There was a lot of talk about cancelling the transfer. I started on some extra estrogen pills and said a prayer. I went back a few days later on Friday (right before we headed for a little weekend getaway in Charleston) and my levels had gone back up, the fluid was gone and the transfer date was set. We started the lovely progesterone shots that night and things started to feel a little more real.
On the following Wednesday (7/31) we transferred 2 great looking embryos. Unfortunately, Jay had to go out of town that morning (our transfer was originally scheduled for Monday the 29th but got pushed back because of the fluid and estrogen) so Allie went with me to the transfer. The morning of the transfer I was pretty nervous! I took my meds on an empty stomach on our way to breakfast and ended up getting sick at the restaurant. Luckily, some toast fixed the problem and I settled down before my 11:30 transfer. The transfer was easy and quick and I spent the next few days laying around while my mom and sister helped take care of me and the kids.
As of today (Sunday, August 4th) I am 4dp6dt and haven't gotten a positive pregnancy test yet. I don't really expect to but I am on pins and needles waiting! I am great during the day but at night when the kids go to sleep and Jay is gone (he's traveling this week too) all I think about are these sweet babies that could be. With Emma Cate and Holden I got a positive pregnancy test at 5dp5dt so hopefully I'll get a good result tomorrow! Saying prayers!
