4 Month Profession Pictures

I am so pleased with the 4 month pictures we just got back. I am amazed at my photographer. Picture day was rough. I was alone with the kids up until the photographer arrived. She arrived and both kids were still being fed and had not been changed into their picture outfits. I was stressing a lot just a tad. The purpose of these pictures was to capture the "milestone" of the babies holding their heads up. Neither of my children particularly like to do this. I am amazed that she was able to get one shot of each baby! I am so thankful for a wonderful photographer and her ability to capture my family looking so calm and happy on a day that was definitely not calm and happy :)

Also- I'm asking for a prayer request for my little guy. He is having surgery tomorrow for his hydrocele. We have to be at the hospital at 5am for a 7am surgery. I'm praying for a smooth procedure, an easy recovery, and for all the medical staff that will be helping to heal him.

This was the blanket my Grandma knitted for me before I was born. She choose pink and purple and had no clue that I would be a girl!

My Grandma knitted this blanket for my sister... guess she thought Bo was going to be a boy! Afterall, my mom had already had 2 girls.

She was able to capture Holden's first time rolling over!

love this expression!

Rice Cereal (Gobble Gobble Weekend Part 3)

The last litle bit of our Thanksgiving weekend was spent decorating for Christmas and hanging out with our babies. I've got some pictures of our house decorated for Christmas that I plan to share on the upcoming link ups. I just LOVE decorating for Christmas!
On Sunday morning we decided to try rice cereal. I took some cooked organic brown rice and pureed it with some breastmilk. The first try was at 2pm and you'll see the babies' reactions in the pictures below. Both hated it and cried through the whole thing. Jay and I were dying laughing (#badparents). We tried again later on in the day and Holden really took to it. Daddy fed Emma Cate and he is definitely learning along with her. He fed her a ton at a time and she choked a little bit. Daddy felt horrible but all was good in the end!

NO CEREAL MOM!

You want me to eat this?

I'm not swallowing

No

The following pictures are from round 2. It was a much better idea to feed them when they were happy to begin with!

Christmas is Coming (Gobble Gobble Part 2)

After a quick snooze in Asheboro, we woke up SUPER early on Friday morning to head to Asheville to cut down our tree. In previous years, we've always gone black Friday shopping and cut down the tree a different day but I really liked how we did it this year. We went past Asheville to Boyd Mountain Tree Farm and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience we had! The trees were gorgeous and the staff was sooo helpful. You walk up the picturesque mountain in search of the perfect tree. All the trees are labeled with a price and size. You find the perfect one and yell out, "I found the perfect tree!" and a friendly man appears out of nowhere with a chainsaw. They took as many pictures of us as we wanted and weren't annoyed in the least. They cut down the tree for you (or you can cut your own if you want to use the bow saw) and they drag it down the mountain and put the netting around it while you make your way down, enjoy complimentary hot cocoa and cider and take pictures with Santa. To top it off, you drive your car up to the tree loading area and they tie it to the top of your car. We fit two good size trees on our Tahoe without a problem. The people behind us had four trees. It was a great experience and we will definitely go back! On our way back to Charlotte, we stopped in Asheville for lunch. We were excited to eat at Tupelo Honey but with the 1.5 hour wait we decided to go to the place next door. It wasn't bad but next time I'm definitely making a reservation at Tupelo Honey. It was fun to see all the people shopping around the streets of Asheville.

When we got home later that night, I found Holden like this. I think he was a little tired of me singing all those crazy songs to him and decided to cover his ears!

On Saturday we went to the NC State game to watch the Wolfpack take on Boston College. The game was freezing but thankfully the kiddos stayed warm and well behaved. We stayed for the first half and then went back to the tailgate to warm up, feed babies, and prep for the drive back home! I just love college game day!

Jay's cousin Jenna's boyfriend Adam was a natural with the babies!
