I spent Friday morning at parent-teacher conferences and did not have a single parent stop by! I guess that figures considering I've only been in the classroom for 5.5 days! I snuck out a little early to meet my babies and mom at our last Music Together: Baby Class. I'm so sad this fun class has come to an end. It is amazing to see how much my little ones have grown over this 10 week period. I would HIGHLY recommend music class to any new mom. It really helped me interact with my babies outside of class, gave me new song ideas, and I swear it has helped them develop language already.
We had family pictures scheduled for Friday afternoon and it was NUTS. I was alone feeding the babies at my parents house (we wanted to use their backyard for pictures) when the photographer arrived and I was not prepared at all. Luckily we got in a few good shots but may have to redo some of the babies holding their heads up since Emma Cate does not enjoy doing that just yet.
I have been very calm and relaxed about being a twin mom and working but Friday afternoon was about all I could take. Jay had been out of town for three days, we had pictures, I had to work until 8pm Thursday night because of conferences, and we had made plans to visit Jay's grandmother in Asheboro and spend the night on Friday evening. Finally, something had to give and we decided just to stay in Charlotte on Friday. I felt so bad disappointing Jay's grandmother but at some point, we had to slow down and recoup!
Saturday morning we headed to Raleigh bright and early for the twin's first visit to a Wolfpack Football game! We drove straight to the bookstore to pick up some gear (I have memories of going to visit the South Carolina bookstore with my parents when we were little and loved hearing all their stories of college :) ). Unfortunately, we had no clue the bookstore had been torn down so we took a little walk through campus to visit the new temporary store. I'm glad because we were also able to get some photos in the brickyard. All those pictures are on my big camera and have yet to be uploaded so I'll add those soon.
We headed over to Carter Finley, where Big Jay had a huge tailgate set up for us. Jay and I have always been big tailgaters and have several bins of tailgate stuff at our home. We normally spend the week getting prepared and purchasing food for Saturday. It was SOOO nice to just show up and have everything there for us! We arrive around 2pm and Jay's family took over feeding the babies. Meanwhile I had to pump in the backseat of the car... always something new! We strapped the babies in the Bjorn's and headed into the stadium as our little family of four.
As soon as we took our seats, Holden started screaming and I spent the entire first quarter walking around the concourse. Poor baby HATED when the wolf howled. Finally he fell asleep and we joined Jay and Emma Cate in our seats. Emma Cate watched the first part of the game and then fell asleep on her Daddy. At the end of the half we packed up and headed down towards the tunnel to watch Jay's sister Ivey walk through! So good to see her and meet her dance team friends. The twins also got to meet Mrs. Wuf but I didn't get a picture :( so disappointed .
A huge THANKS to NC State for providing family restrooms with good changing tables! We were able to change the babies at halftime before making our way back to the car. We quickly hopped in the car and Jay's mom fed the babies as we headed home! They slept all the way to Charlotte!
We went straight to my parent's house to celebrate the last little bit of my sister's birthday party! The twins got some cuddle time with aunt Bo before we headed home to put them to bed.
The twins slept in (haha funny) until 7:20 Sunday morning instead of their usual 7am. We had a productive Sunday straightening up around the house, doing yardwork (well Jay did), and grocery shopping. I'm proud of myself for using my Sunday to get organized! I made soup for lunches for the week, made Sunday dinner for the family, made oatmeal pancakes to freeze for breakfasts and got together all my ingredients for my crock pot Monday supper! Whew! I absolutely LOVE starting the week off right feeling organized!
Pics from the past few days:
I forgot to mention that my sweet boy has to have surgery :( We met with the urologist this past Wednesday and learned that his hydrocele has not gotten any better so they will do surgery. Please keep him in your prayers. The picture above was taken at the urologist. He was sooo sleepy. He never falls asleep in my arms like this. I felt bad for him but just loved the cuddles I got!

We put the jumpers up on Sunday to contain the kids while we cleaned our their closets. They are still a little tiny for them but had sooo much fun!
Woke up from nap!
