4th of July

I know I still need to do a few catch up posts but I'm posting about our fabulous 4th before I get further behind! This post is LOADED with pictures. I really need to be better at deciding which pictures to include!

We kicked off our long weekend with the 4th of july pops in the park at southpark on july 3rd. The weather did not cooperate so after laying our blanket in the rain we came back and had a picnic in the basement while the rain passed during the prelude and headed back to the park in time for the concert and fireworks.

This guy was MISERABLE this entire weekend. He was getting his first tooth and man was he a bear. Sissy had no issues with teething so we were in for a surprise with this little guy.

The concert started at 8:15 and the fireworks were at 9:15. This was WAY past the babies' 7:30 bedtime but they did so awesome. I'm loving that we are able to deviate from the schedule on occasion to do fun things!

kids shirts were made by my mom and are available at my shop Tender Love and Cloth

we switched to our patriotic pjs for the fireworks so that bedtime would be super easy when we got home

The morning of the 4th we participated in our neighborhood 4th of july parade. The babies loved the wagon ride around the neighborhood and the yummy TCBY at the end.

With Gigi's help, we quickly packed up and headed to the beach to continue our 4th of July celebrations. We made a quick stop at Jay's cousin's beautiful home in Leland to drop off our stuff and then went to his aunt's house in Southport for her annual 4th of July party

we hardly ever put Emma Cate in dresses anymore because they always get in her way when she crawls. She always ends up with her dress tucked into her bloomers so she can get around.

We ended the night with the Wilmington fireworks show, which we watched from Chris and Candace's dock  across the cape fear river.

We spent the 5th at the pool with Jay's mom Gran. The pool was zero entry and the kids had an awesome time splashing around

our kids NEVER leave hats on and our baby pool is always shaded so I don't really worry about it but this pool was in the hot heat so we tried our best to keep these hats on!

We spent Friday evening in Southport at an engagement party for Jay's aunt's friend's son (you follow?)
i finally made a picture! Any other moms feel like they aren't in any pictures with their kids?

July 6th was spent at the beach! This was the twins second trip to the beach and we had a blast! We went to Holden's namesake, Holden beach. Jay's dad has a place near the beach and we met up with him on our way there.

love this cutie pie

This stinker had not used the bathroom in 2 days (I'm guessing due to teething) and had a major blowout in his swim diaper at the beach. We're proof that the iplay swim diapers hold everything!

Saturday night we went out in Wilmington for dinner at Circa 1922 and drinks at a rooftop bar. We loved our date night!

We had planned to head to the beach on Sunday but got a late start and decided to skip the beach in lieu of our favorite beach restaurant, Provision Company.

Before our lunch, Candace and I went on an awesome run through downtown Wilmington. So pretty!
