Almost 2 weeks

So we've been busy and it's crazy having three under 2! I want to catch up on a lot including Shep's birth story (it wasn't super eventful thank goodness!).

Shep is a fabulous baby. He eats, sleeps, gives gas smiles and only really cries when he is hungry. Having a newborn is so sweet. A few nights after putting the twins to bed I just laid in bed with Shep and did lots of skin to skin. I'm much more relaxed this time around and we don't have to be as scheduled as we were with the twins. This leaves us more time to just cuddle with Shep and take advantage of these fleeting moments.

I'm nursing/pumping and it is just as hard as it was with the twins. I have a major over supply issue. I basically soak Shep (and me) every time we try to nurse. I'm trying really hard not to get mastitis again but think I may have failed. I've been running a high fever the past few days and am just feeling so yucky (chills, night sweats, etc.). I'm meeting with the lactation consultant today to figure out how we can fix this :)

Today was my first day on my own. Jay not only went back to work but had to go out of town for a few days. Yikes! We made it to preschool just a few minutes late today but we made it! I know it will take some time to fall into our new routine. I'd love to write more but we are headed to our appointment and Shep's getting fussy :)

  2. Shep is perfect...what a sweet boy. Oh no! Bummed to hear about the nursing struggles - hopefully your appointment with lactation went great and you don't have mastitis! I feel your pain...I had it 3 times with our twins. Keep up the great work, girl! Love hearing/seeing how you guys are doing :)
