I'm trying to get caught up to present time without forgetting anything! The next few posts will be mainly pictures to help me remember!
The Tuesday after Shep was born we dropped the kids at preschool and went on a little date. Shep had his first doctor's appointment that morning so we decided a quick breakfast at Starbucks would fit the bill. We so smuggly sat and ate our breakfast and talked about how easy it was having just one kid with us. We walked out to our car feeling happy and smug with new parent love, you know the "we totally got this three kid thing down" to find our car had been booted because we parked in the wrong spot... a nice $50 later we headed to the doctor's office...
Baby Shep's first doctor's appointment. Little guy was up to 8.5 pounds. In almost a week he had gained back to his birth weight and then some. Our chunky monkey loves to eat! He had a great bill of health and on we went to pick up the kids to take them to swimming.
After naps we played in the basement. This one has been really into all things baby since Shep was born.
He is also pretty obsessed with this drill that he got from Gigi and Pop Po as his big brother gift.
The entire first week, I spent most of my nights like this. We would put the twins down and I would snuggle up with this little guy. I know how fleeting those newborn moments are. We still feel like we'd like a 4th baby but just in case that isn't in our cards, I am making the most of Shep's newborn stage. Soaking in every minute and letting the laundry pile up and the dust bunnies collect.
Jay's a pretty fabulous daddy to his babies and is always pitching in to help
Somewhere between 2am-5am we lost our favorite backyard tree. It's crazy that we were playing under it just the day before. We were so thankful no one got hurt and our neighbor's garage only had minimal damage. We didn't have storms or anything but when our general contractor came to take a look, he said that the tree had been dead for a long time but we would have never known because of it's leaves. So sad to see it go. We now how a huge mound in our backyard and we're trying to figure out what to do with it.
just love snapping pics of this little guy.
On Wednesday the 23rd we headed to the twins' preschool for an easter egg hunt. They had spring break the week before easter so the hunt was postponed. It was so nice to have Jay with me to chase these guys around. Shep slept the whole time in his carrier.
like I said... this one has been into all things baby since Shep's arrival. I found him having "tummy time" on Shep's stuff when I was feeding Shep. I posted this on instagram (follow me @akscarroll) and was surprised how many people thought this was Shep! He's a big guy but not that big.
Another shot of our poor tree
Shep with his first babysitter
A week after Shep was born we had a fundraiser to attend for the twins' preschool. It was so nice to get out as a couple!
What a bummer about the tree!!! Love the updates
