We'll start with Shep since he's the easiest at this point...
Shep (26.5 weeks along)
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and we got to hear Shep's heartbeat! He is going strong at 144/bpm. He sounded good and I was measuring right on track. My mom came along with the babies (we had errands to run afterwards and the appointment was just a quick check) and held them up to watch when the doctor did the doppler on my tummy. Their faces were sooo priceless when they heard that crazy noise coming from the machine. It was a really sweet moment with all of my babies :) Everything else is looking good for this kid! I have a glucose screening in two weeks and hopefully no gestational diabetes! Shep is EXTREMELY active for short periods during the day and then enjoys long naps. Hopefully he'll be an easy peasy baby whose nap schedule remains the same!
Holden (18.5 months):
You are sooo funny. You have grown up in the past month. You have lots of teeth, run constantly and are so active. You've started to have bit of a naughty streak. You like to dump the dog's water bowls and then laugh and run away. You sit in time out at least once a day and think its funny until you realize what is going on and then you cry. You love cars and will stand at the coffee table or play table and drive them around while making car noises. Trucks are a major obsession and you love to watch the traffic go by. We are going on the lightrail this Monday and I am so excited for you! You still love to push things around. The shopping cart, baby strollers, and walker are your favorites. You love to "jump" but your feet don't leave the ground yet. You are a wiggly mess to get dressed and its always a battle. You are still a messy, messy eater and you truly enjoy your food. You love noodles of any type and really enjoy thai food. You are such a sweet boy and are generous with your hugs and kisses.
Your speech has really come along the past week or so. You "talk" all the time! You only have a few words, (mama, dada, bo, ooo, whatdis, whatdat, hi, uh oh, hey, bye, thai-thai and a ton of sound effects, siren, car noise, etc.) but you are always making sounds. We're working with you on repeating words. You are a major flirt and wave hi to everyone we see. You have the sweetest but at the same time, the most devilish face. I want to pinch your cheeks and cover you in kisses all the time. You have the BEST belly laughs and we love tickling you under your chin. You are our sleeper and NEED your nap everyday. You are a little crazy if you miss a nap. You are great at having your picture taken and most always give me a good smile. You are so good at going to bed at night and you always obey when asked to lay your head down on your pillow. We tuck you in and you always wave bye bye.
You love to read and be read to. You'll always climb up on our laps for story time. When we are reading to Emma Cate you love to join the party and you end up making her pretty mad and usually ending story time. We are working on sharing and you are very good at sharing with Emma Cate. Sometimes you like for her to chase you and will take a toy she wants and run around the island with it. You can be quite the stinker when you want to be :) You love the radio and have figured out how to turn it on (sometimes). You stand in front of it and dance your heart out. You are a dancing machine and we love it!
You are gaining some height (32.5 inches) and weigh around 26lbs. You are growing out of 18 month clothes and into 2T. You wear a size 5-6 shoe.
Emma Cate (18.5 months):
Girl, you are sassy. That is one of your nicknames along with Tay-Tay, Taye, Cate, and Tate. I don't think you really know your name. You can be sooo much fun and so sweet and then you can turn on a dime. You throw some major temper tantrums. You are completely a mama's girl and I see a ton of my personality in you. You are feisty and strong-willed. You can drive your daddy nuts because he doesn't know how to handle you but I keep convincing him that it is a good thing to have a strong girl that knows what she wants! You love a good cuddle every once in a while and have a major love for reading. You are independent and like to read by yourself. I often find you in your rocker in your room by yourself flipping through pages of your favorite book, the Very Hungry Caterpillar. You love being chased and chasing after Holden. Running through the hall is another favorite activity. You love your "dodgies" (dogs) and are great at helping me unlock their crate when we get home. You love when they play and chase each other around. You squeal with delight when they race past you.
You like to bounce in the bounce house and love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You'll stop whatever you're doing when Mickey comes on. You like stuffed animals and Boo the dog is your favorite. You like to play in the kitchen area in the basement. You are really into sorting things and separate items by color. You know the color green (pronounced geen). You are dying for mommy to let you use the easel you got for Christmas but easel and white carpet scare me. You are a great little talker and have recently started to "sing". I'll find you sitting somewhere in a little corner just singing little songs to yourself. You can repeat almost anything. You have a lot of words that you say on your own (buh by, hi, hey, gee gee, dogie, mama, dada, nana, me (please), no, and shoes). You are so funny when you say no. It's very short and to the point. You like to tell the doggies no, no dodgies and wave at them with your hand.
You are my hit or miss napper. If you go down by 1:30 yoú're golden. If we miss that window you rarely go to sleep. You don't really need a nap though but mama definitely needs nap time! You like to sleep later in the mornings than Holden and he often wakes you up to play. You don't really like to eat unless its sweets. You'll eat fruit and yogurt consistently. Chicken fingers are a favorite. Sometimes you'll put down tons of food and other times you won't eat at all. Chocolate covered popcorn is your (and mamas) love language. You are a tiny peanut coming in at 30.5 inches tall and weighing almost 22lbs. You wear at size 4 shoe.
